AirHogs Grounded in Finale, 9-1
In what looked like a rough game on paper proved to be a rather good one in person. The AirHogs got 8 innings of work from starter Kevin Hilton, despite losing 9-1
Two 3-run innings to start the game, was all the Chicago Dogs needed in tonight’s contest. 3 singles in the top of the 1st, capped by a bases clearing triple brought in the first runs of the game.
The AirHogs tried to answer in the bottom of the 1st, as Moroney came around to score on a throwing error by the Chicago third baseman.
The 2nd looked much of the same as a leadoff walk followed by back to back singles and a double gave the Dogs an early commanding lead.
After allowing 6 runs in his first 2 innings of work, Texas starter Kevin Hilton steadied the boat as he continued on, making it to the 8th inning. Hilton finished the night going 8 innings, allowing 9 runs on 11 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1.
The Dogs capped off the win by scoring 3 more in the top of the 9th after Hilton was pulled for Tu Jialun.
