Saltdogs End Explorers Run, 3-0
Spencer Herrmann allowed one hit in 7.2 innings pitched to help lead the Lincoln Saltdogs to a 3-0 victory over the Sioux City Explorers on Thursday. That snapped the 12 game win streak for Sioux City. Curt Smith led the offense with two hits and two RBI. Taylor Jordan took the loss despite allowing just to run in seven innings pitched.
RedHawks Score Seven Unanswered Runs to Defeat Dogs, 7-4
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks overcame a four run deficit, scoring seven unanswered runs to defeat the Chicago Dogs, 7-4. The RedHawks scored three in the bottom of the fifth, and took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the eighth. Joe Filomeno earned the victory with two perfect innings of relief, and Geoff Broussard came on in the ninth to record his 20th save of the season.
Seven Run Fifth Helps Saints Complete Sweep, 11-5
The St. Paul Saints completed their sweep of the Milwaukee Milkmen on Thursday, thanks to a seven run fifth inning that helped St. Paul prevail 11-5. The Saints sent 13 men to the plate in the decisive frame, as Brady Shoemaker and Chesny Young each drove in two runs in the inning. Jordan Jess (5-0) earned the victory in his second start of the season.
AirHogs Blank Railroaders, 1-0
Erik Manoah, Jr. tossed seven shutout innings to help lead the Texas AirHogs to a 1-0 victory over the Cleburne Railroaders. Manoah struck out eight, did not earn the victory as Matt Dean’s RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the only run of the game. Tyler Matzek came on in the ninth to close it out for his second save of the season.
Santiesteban, RailCats Devour Goldeyes, 10-2
Randy Santiesteban had three hits and drove home four as the Gary Southshore RailCats defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 10-2. Gary Southshore held a 2-0 lead before scoring runs in four consecutive inning, including four in the bottom of the seventh-inning. All-Star Colin Willis scored three runs as did Wilfredo Gimenez.
Five Run Frame Gives T-Bones Victory, 10-5
The Kansas City T-Bones overcame a 5-3 deficit, thanks to five runs in the bottom of the sixth as they downed the Sioux Falls Canaries, 10-5. Dylan Tice plated two in the inning, finishing with three RBI. Christopher Colabello also drove in a pair with his fifth homerun of the season. The Kansas City bullpen tossed three no-hit innings to finish off the contest.

The Sioux City Explorers saw their 12 game win streak snapped…the Milwaukee Milkmen lost their seventh straight game…the Gary Southshore RailCats set a season-high for hits in a game with 14… RedHawks third baseman Leobaldo Pina extended his streak of reaching base to 37 consecutive games…The AirHogs Stewart Ijames has reached base in 29 consecutive games at home.
