Ahart, RedHawks Top Goldeyes
Devan Ahart scored three runs and drove in three as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 9-7. Fargo-Moorhead led 4-2 heading into the top of the eighth when this turned into a wild affair. T.J. Bennett doubled in two, but Winnipeg responded with two in the bottom of the frame, thanks to a two-run homer by Tyler Hill. In the ninth, homers by Yhoxian Medina and Ahart extended the lead to five, but the Goldeyes were not done. Alex Perez doubled home a run before Hill doubled to plate two more. Winnipeg would get no closer, however, as Geoff Broussard came on, closing the door for his 12th save of the season.
Saltdogs-Saints, Railroaders-AirHogs Suspended
The Cleburne Railroaders contest against the Texas AirHogs was suspended with the score tied at three. A power outage led to the suspension. No official makeup date was provided.
The St. Paul Saints and Lincoln Saltdogs contest was also suspended as rain made the conditions too difficult to continue. The contest will be continued before Tuesday’s regularly scheduled game between the two teams.
