Westphal, Dogs End Railroaders Run
Luke Westphal allowed two hits and no runs in six innings as the Chicago Dogs defeated the Cleburne Railroaders, 5-2. That snapped the Railroaders seven game winning streak. David Olmedo-Barrera drove in two runs for Chicago.
McGovern Shuts Down RedHawks
Kevin McGovern allowed one unearned run in eight innings as the Winnipeg Goldeyes defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, 4-1. Reggie Abercrombie drove in two runs and Victor Capellan came on to record his 16th save of the season, tops in the American Association.
O’Malley Walk-Off Single Gives T-Bones Win
Shawn O’Malley singled home Casey Gillaspie with two down in the 11th to give the Kansas City T-Bones a 2-1 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries. The two out rally was started by Gillaspie, who fell behind 1-2 before singling. After Roy Morales walked, O’Malley singled home the winning run. Marc Magliaro earned the victory.
House Tosses Complete Game, Milkmen Win
The Milwaukee Milkmen defeated the Sioux City Explorers 7-3, thanks to T.J. House, who tossed his second straight complete game. House allowed three runs on six hits. Adam Walker drove in two for the Milkmen. Sebastian Zwada homered and drove in three for Sioux City.
AirHogs Hang on to Down RailCats, 8-6
The Texas AirHogs downed the Gary Southshore RailCats, 8-6 on Wednesday. Javion Randle doubled twice and drove home two runs to help lead the AirHogs offense. A four run fifth proved to be the big blow as Chen Junpeng drove home two in the frame.
Crenshaw Silences Dogs
Dustin Crenshaw allowed one run in 8.1 innings as the St. Paul Saints defeated the Lincoln Saltdogs, 5-1. Brady Shoemaker was a perfect 3-3 and Jhonatan Solano drove home two in his Saints debut.
American Association Daily Notes
The Chicago Dogs victory over the Cleburne Railroaders ended the Railroaders seven game winning streak as well as their six game winnings streak at home…Reggie Abercrombie drove home his 348th RBI as a Winnipeg Goldeye, setting a franchise record.
