Homers Galore in Saints 20-11 Victory
The St. Paul Saints and Sioux Falls Canaries combined for 10 homers Monday night, as the Saints downed the Canaries, 20-11. Max Murphy homered twice and drove in seven for St. Paul. The top three in the order were a combined 11-15 with 9 runs and 15 RBI. The Canaries got two homers and 6 RBI from Mike Hart.
Explorers Complete Sweep, 6-4
The Sioux City Explorers downed the Cleburne Railroaders 6-4 to complete the sweep of their four game series. Jose Sermo homered and drove in two runs and Adam Sasser was a perfect 4-4 with a run and an RBI. Jason Garcia earned his American Association leading sixth win of the season.
American Association Notes
The St. Paul Saints tied a franchise record with six homers on Monday. Outfielder Max Murphy came within two of the league record for RBI in a game with seven. The record is nine, set by the Saints Brian Buchanan on July 20, 2006…The Minor League Sports Report named their Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 5. Winnipeg Goldeyes LHP Mitch Lambson was named the Pitcher of the Week while the Sioux City Explorers Nate Samson was selected as Player of the Week. The American Association chose the Explorers Tyler Falwell as Pitcher of the Week.
