Six Run Ninth Propels Railroaders
The Cleburne Railroaders defeated the Sioux Falls Canaries Thursday night, 8-2, thanks to a six run ninth inning. Hunter Clanin hit a two run homer to give Cleburne the lead, and four successive hit by pitches drove home four more runs. KC Huth finished with 2 runs and 2 RBI.
Taylor, Explorers Blanks Goldeyes
The Sioux City Explorers were not going to allow the Winnipeg Goldeyes to rally in this contest, as Taylor Jordan went the distance on a complete game shutout to down the Goldeyes, 5-0. Jordan allowed just three hits and Michael Lang homered and drove in two runs.
Martinez Homer Helps Deliver Milkmen Victory
The Milwaukee Milkmen continued their winning ways on Thursday, downing the Kansas City T-Bones, 5-3. Teodoro Martinez hit his first homerun of the year and added 2 RBI, and Zac Westcott won his first game of the year with five outstanding innings. Myles Smith struck out both batters he faced for his sixth save of the season.
Kyle Kinman Grounds AirHogs
Kyle Kinman tossed seven outstanding innings, allowing 3 hits and one unearned run to help lead the Lincoln Saltdogs to a 4-1 victory over the Texas AirHogs. John Sansone and Randolph Oduber each hit their fourth homer for Lincoln.
The contest between the Chicago Dogs and Gary Southshore RailCats was suspended in the fourth, with Gary leading 4-3. The contest will be continued when the Dogs return to Gary in July.
American Association Notes
Sioux Falls Canaries reliever Ryan Flores hit four batters in a row on Thursday afternoon. The Major League record is three consecutive batters hit in a row set nine times…the Milwaukee Milkmen have won three series in a row.
