Thursday there were two games in the American Association playoffs. The Sioux City Explorers won to even their series and the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks took a 2-0 lead in the North Division series.

Karch Dominates in Explorers 11-0 Victory
The Sioux City Explorers evened their series with the Kansas City T-Bones, winning easily, 11-0. Eric Karch was brilliant, tossing eight shutout innings to earn the victory. Kyle Wren drove in five with a double and a triple. The victory tied the South Division series at one, as the series shifts to Kansas City for Game 3 on Saturday night.
RedHawks Hang on To Down Saints, 4-3
Correlle Prime and Chris Jacobs homered on consecutive pitches in the bottom of the first-inning to help lead the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to a 4-3 victory over the St. Paul Saints. The RedHawks grabbed a 4-1 lead before St. Paul would battle back to make this a one run game. However, closer Geoff Broussard closed the door in the ninth for the second consecutive night to preserve the victory.
American Association Notes
Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks Manager Jim Bennett was named the Manager of the Year on Thursday. He guided the team to a 63-37 record in his first season.
