DockHounds Drop Rubber Match to Monarchs

OCONOMOWOC, WI. – The Lake Country DockHounds fell to the Kansas City Monarchs 8-2 on Sunday afternoon in Oconomowoc.
Evan Kruczynski took the hill for Lake Country on Sunday and pitched five innings and allowed one earned run. Both he and the KC
starter threw a scoreless first two innings.
Lake Country got on the board in the third inning on a Jake Snider home run.
The score sat at 1-0 until the fifth inning when Joel Booker scored on a throwing error by TJ Bennett. The second score of the game came
in the same inning when Willie Abreu scored an unearned run off the Matt Adams 4-3 putout for the second out. The score was then 2-2.
The DockHounds catcher Travis Tanaka scored from a bases loaded walk the next half inning.
Casey Gillaspie hit a 3-run home run in the seventh to extend the lead 5-2.
The Monarchs scored on a Gabriel Guerrero single and an Abreu sac-fly in the eighth to make the score 7-2. Another sacrifice-fly ended
the scoring in the ninth inning.
The DockHounds would lose their 2nd game of the series to put their record at 11 wins and 10 losses.
Lake Country will host a four-game series against the Gary SouthShore RailCats beginning Monday, June 5th at 6:35 p.m.
