Dogs Sweep Saltdogs in Double-Header
The Chicago Dogs swept a double-header over the Lincoln Saltdogs on Wednesday. Jordan Kipper led the way in the first contest, allowing one run in five innings as the Dogs used a four-run third inning to earn the decisive 7-1 victory. K.C. Hobson hit his 21st homerun of the season and drove in a pair of runs for Chicago. Anfernee Grier also went deep.
In the second contest, it was another four-run frame, this time in the second inning that helped lead Chicago to a 4-3 victory. Grier had the decisive hit in the inning, a two-run single and Michael Bowden earned the victory, allowing three runs in five innings. Jeff Kinley came on to close out the contest for his 16th save of the season.
Lincoln did mount a rally, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Josh Altmann provided the big blow, a two-run blast and David Vidal added a solo shot.

Cougars Complete Sweep of Monarchs
The Kane County Cougars held on for an 11-8 victory to complete a suspended game before shutting out the Kansas City Monarchs to complete the double-header sweep. In the first contest, Kane County jumped out to a 7-3 lead thanks to a five-run fourth inning. Tyler Friis drove in three with a bases clearing double in the fourth and Josh Tols came out of the bullpen to earn the victory. Nick Anderson had two hits, including hitting his second homerun of the season, and Mitch Reeves added a two-run blast of his own.
Kansas City got four hits and three RBI from Gabriel Guerrero, and Ibandel Isbael went deep twice for the Monarchs.
In the second contest, Eddie Medina had his best start of the season, tossing six shutout innings in a 6-0 Cougars victory. The team scored one in the third, three in the fourth, and two in the fifth to provide more than enough run support for their starter. Brandon Chinea went 3-3 with a run and two RBI. He hit his second homerun of the season.

Milkmen Rally to Down Goldeyes
The Milwaukee Milkmen rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 9-8. Winnipeg had taken the lead in the top half of the inning on an RBI double by Raul Navarro. However, Milwaukee rallied against closer Donnie Hart, as Brett Vertigan led off with a single and Adam Brett Walker II earns a walk-off victory with a two-run blast to give Milwaukee the win. Walker finished with two hits and three RBI and Christian Correa was a perfect 4-4 with three runs driven in.
Winnipeg got three hits and two RBI from Tyler Hill. Austin Rei also drove in a pair of runs.

Silviano Homers in RedHawks Victory
John Silviano hit his 24th homerun of the season to help lead the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to a 7-1 victory over the Gary SouthShore RailCats. This was a close 3-1 lead for Fargo until the eighth when the team put up four runs to seal the victory. Manuel Boscan went 4-5 with two runs and two RBI. Logan Nissen earned the victory, tossing two scoreless frames.

Apollos Down Explorers in 10
Gabe Wurtz hit a two-run single in the top of the 10th inning to give the Houston Apollos a 9-7 victory over the Sioux City Explorers. Houston had trailed 7-4 entering the top of the seventh, but put up three runs to tie the game. William Salas drove in a run in the inning, one of four RBI on the evening. Keisy Portorreal came on to earn the victory with two scoreless innings of relief and Pierce Smith closed out the contest for his first save of the season.
Both Jose Sermo and Seamus Curran drove in a pair of runs for Sioux City. Michael Lang and Blake Tiberi each scored two times.

Peterson Homers Three Times to Lead Railroaders
D.J. Peterson homered three times as the Cleburne Railroaders defeated the Sioux Falls Canaries, 13-6. Peterson hit a solo shot in the first, added a three-run blast in the sixth, and another solo shot in the eighth. He finished 4-5 with three runs scored and five RBI. Colton Pogue drove in a pair of runs and Skyler Ewing also went deep as part of a two hit, two run, two RBI performance.
Sioux Falls got two hits and three RBIs from Angelo Altavillo. Jabari Henry scored twice and reached base three times in the contest.
