Early Onslaught Sends AirHogs to 18-2 Thrashing of Saltdogs
For the second night in a row, the AirHogs looked like they were rolling on all cylinders as Texas takes game one against Lincoln, 18-2.
The AirHogs scored quick and often as they put up runs in all but 3 innings. They started off by regaining the lead by scoring 3 in the bottom of the first after the Saltdogs scored a single run in the top of the inning. Texas would then add 3 in the 2nd, 8 in the 3rd, 3 in the 4th, and 1 in the 7th.
Every hitter in the AirHogs lineup reached base today, however the standout stars include Johnothan Moroney, who went 3 for 6 with a home run and 3 RBIs, and Li Ning who finished the night going 5 for 6 and scoring 4 times.
It was also a great night for Texas pitching. AirHogs starter, Erik Monoah went 6 strong innings, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 3 and walking 1. With the win, Monoah improves to 4-2 on the season.
Texas will look to recreate tonight’s results tomorrow for game 2 when they send Travis Ballew to the mound. The rolling AirHogs hitters will face off against righty, Jake Hohensee. First pitch is set for 7:05 PM.
