In today’s edition, This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report name Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks right-hander Davis Feldman as American Association Pitcher of the Week for Week 3 of the 2023 season.

RedHawks RHP Davis Feldman Named Pitcher of the Week

On Monday, This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report named Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks right-hander Davis Feldman as the Pitcher of the Week for Week 3 of the 2023 American Association season. Feldman made one start during the week, and made it a good one, tossing seven shutout innings in a 2-0 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs.

The right-hander made his start on May 25 in Lincoln. Fargo-Moorhead scored two runs in the first inning, and Feldman made that lead stand. He retired the side in order in the first, then gave up a walk and a hit to lead off the second. However, he induced a double play before striking out the final batter of the inning to strand a runner. Feldman gave up his second walk of the game in the third inning and gave up the last two hits allowed in the fifth, putting two on with two down before getting a fielder’s choice to end the threat. He hit a batter in the sixth and gave up his third and final walk in the seventh before his evening was over.

Of the 122 pitches he threw, 71 went for strikes. Feldman struck out at least one batter in every inning but the fifth, and struck out the side in the sixth. He finished with 10 strikeouts, tying a single game high.

Davis Feldman began his professional career in 2021, appearing in nine games for the RedHawks and made six starts for Lexington (Atlantic League). He posted a 3-4 record overall with a 9.85 ERA, but was solid last season, moving from the bullpen to the rotation where he finished 6-6 with a 5.03 ERA. That included dominating during the postseason, posting a 1-0 record with a 2.45 ERA in three appearances. This season, Feldman is off to a great start, going 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA in three starts. He has allowed 12 hits and nine walks in 19.0 innings, striking out 19.
