In today’s edition of American Association Daily Recap, Robert Pannier recaps Tuesday’s games in the American Association, including the RedHawks rallying to down the Saints and the Goldeyes defeating the Dogs in the battle of the two hottest teams.
Homers Propel Goldeyes Over Dogs, 8-4
The Winnipeg Goldeyes and Chicago Dogs squared off in the battle of the two hottest teams in the American Association, but it was the red-hot Goldeyes bats that led the way, hitting five homers in the 8-4 victory. Kevin Lachance homered twice, and Darnell Sweeny, Logan Hill, and John Nester went deep as well.
The Goldeyes jumped out to a 5-0 lead aided by back-to-back homers by Lachance and Sweeney to begin the contest. The Dogs battled back with two runs in the bottom of the third, but solo homers in three of the next four homers put this game away.
Mitch Lambson (3-1) earned the victory, allowing three earned runs in six innings. Nester finished with three hits.

Four-Run Eighth Leads Canaries by Milkmen, 7-4
The Sioux Falls Canaries scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, propelling them over the Milwaukee Milkmen. Sioux Falls trailed 4-3 entering the frame. Karch Kowalczyk retired the first batter, but then issued a walk before giving up back-to-back singles to load the bases. Mike Hart followed with a two-run single to put his team on top and Logan Landon extended the lead with a sacrifice fly. Grant Kay added an RBI single to finish off the scoring.
Tyler Herron (3-0) earned the victory, allowing one earned run in eight-innings. Keaton Steele came on in the ninth to earn his ninth save of the season. Kay had three hits for Sioux Falls and Landon drove in a pair of runs. Logan Trowbridge had three RBI for Milwaukee.

RedHawks Rally to Defeat Saints, 7-5
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks erased a 3-1 deficit, scoring runs in four consecutive innings to defeat the St. Paul Saints, 7-5. Ryan Williams (2-1) came out of the bullpen in the third and was absolutely brilliant, allowing four hits and a run in six innings of work to earn the victory. Mitchell Osnowitz closed out the contest for his sixth save of the season.

The Goldeyes Kyle Martin saw his 12-game hitting streak end…Canaries catcher Clint Coulter currently has the longest hitting streak in the league, reaching 12 games after his 1-4 performance on Tuesday…The Goldeyes have recorded double-digit hits in 16 of their 23 games this season…Winnipeg has won a league high six straight games. The Milwaukee Milkmen have lost five straight.
