Goodheart Drives himin Five to Lead Saltdogs
Matt Goodheart drove in five as the Lincoln Saltdogs defeated the Sioux Falls Canaries, 9-5. Sioux Falls jumped out to a 2-0 lead, scoring single runs in the first and third innings. However, Lincoln took the lead with three in the fourth, then scored two runs in the sixth, seventh, and ninth innings on their way to the victory.
Goodheart had a double as part of a two-hit performance, driving in five. Welington Dotel had three hits and scored two runs. Elijah Johnson earned the victory, allowing two earned runs in 5.0 innings.
Ozzie Martinez led the way for Sioux Falls, going 3-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Tyler Garkow took the loss.

Six-Run Third Propels Goldeyes
The Winnipeg Goldeyes scored six runs in the top of the third to help propel them to a 14-7 victory over the Cleburne Railroaders. Winnipeg held a 2-0 lead coming out of the first inning thanks to a two-run blast by Ian Sagdal, his third homerun of the year. Cleburne cut the deficit in half in the second, but the Goldeyes blew this game open in the third, sending 11 men to the plate. David Washington had the big blow of the inning, hitting a two-run homer, his ninth of the year.
Winnipeg held a 12-1 lead, but the Railroaders battled back, scoring three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. Hill Alexander hit a three-run homer in the sixth, his first of the season, and Chase Simpson drilled a three-run blast of his own, his sixth of the year in the seventh. However, Cleburne could get no closer.
Sagdal finished 2-5 with two runs scored and four RBI. Max Murphy had three hits, including his ninth homerun of the season. Murphy drove in three and scored two runs. Kevin Lachance also went deep for the Goldeyes. Simpson finished 2-5 with three RBI for the Railroaders. Alexander had two hits and drove in four.

Hartman Shuts Down Explorers
Matt Hartman tossed six shutout innings, combining three relievers as the Kansas City Monarchs blanked the Sioux City Explorers, 2-0. Hartman was fantastic, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out seven. Brandon Koch and Justin Donatella each tossed a scoreless frame. Jameson McGrane came on in the ninth, striking out the side to earn his sixth save of the season.
This was a scoreless draw through the first three innings, but Kansas City took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Gabriel Guerrero drove home Joel Booker with a fielder’s choice. In the sixth, Darnell Sweeney plated Booker with a single against Sioux City starter Patrick Ledet.
That would be all the support that Hartman needed in earning his first victory of the season. Sweeney had two hits of the three hits that Kansas City produced on the evening. Booker scored both runs. Ledet was fantastic for Sioux City, allowing two runs on two hits in 7.0 innings.

Milkmen Outslug Dogs
It was a wild affair in Chicago, as the Milwaukee Milkmen outslugged the Chicago Dogs, 13-8. Milwaukee jumped out to a 5-0 lead, scoring three runs in the first, capped off by a two-run single by Keon Barnum. In the third, Correlle Prime and Will Kengor both went deep for the Milkmen and it looked like Milwaukee may dominate this contest. However, the Dogs came back with three in the bottom half of the third, as Ryan Lidge hit a solo blast and Grant Kay a two-run shot.
In the fourth, Milwaukee plated for as Barnum capped off the frame with a two-run shot, his 10th of the year. Chicago is not done no, as they came back with five in the bottom half of the inning. K.C. Hobson had the big blast of the inning, hitting a grand slam for his third homerun of the year. That made it 9-8, but Chad Sedio put this game away with a three-run shot in the top half of the fifth.
Bret Helton earned the victory. Barnum finished 2-5 with four RBI and Prime had three hits, scored three runs, and drove in three. Hobson drove in four and Kay drove in three for Chicago.
Grauer Shines in RedHawks Victory
Tyler Grauer allowed one run in eight innings, shutting down the Lake Country DockHounds as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks won on Wednesday, 5-1. Fargo-Moorhead took the lead in the top of the first inning on a single by John Silviano and a bases loaded walk to Evan Alexander. In the fourth, Peter Maris drilled his seventh homerun of the season, his first homer of the day. In the eighth, Maris connected again, extending the lead to 5-1.
That was more than enough support for Grauer on this day, who held a shutout into the ninth inning. However, Gabriel Noriega led off the final frame with his fifth homerun of the season to spoil the shutout run.
Zion Pettigrew, Noriega, and Tristen Carranza each had two hits for Lake Country. Jesse Remington took the loss. Maris finished with three hits for the RedHawks.
Six-Run Fifth Propels Cougars Past RailCats
The Kane County Cougars had no answers for Adam Heidenfelder through the first four innings, as they found themselves trailing the Gary SouthShore RailCats 3-0. However, a six run fifth inning quickly changed things as Kane County earned a 10-4 victory.
Zach Welz led off the bottom of the first with a homerun helping to lead Gary to a 3-0 lead to the first three innings. Heidenfelder was in complete command, allowing four hits through the first four innings, but things change quickly in the fifth. Sherman Johnson drew a bases loaded walk and Dylan Busby followed with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to one. A Josh Rolette single tied the score and Alexis Pantoja followed with a three-run blast to put the Cougars on top. Kane County added two more in the sixth in single runs in the eighth in the ninth to seal the victory.
Ernie De La Trinidad, Steve Lombardozzi, and Jimmy Kerrigan each had three hits for Kane County. Rolette and Pantoja each drove in three. Michael Woodworth had three hits and scored three runs for the RailCats.
