Hilton Gem Helps AirHogs Snap Skid, 4-1
With the AirHogs looking to end the home stand on a high note, Kevin Hilton stepped to the mound and delivered a great performance in route to a 4-1 win.
The AirHogs streak of 10 straight losses was snapped Wednesday night as Kevin Hitlon’s 7.2 innings of 1 run baseball, while striking out 5 powered the AirHogs to victory. The loan run was given up in the 4th inning with an RBI base hit by Jeremy Martinez. That would be it although Saint Paul would out hit the AirHogs 7 to 5.
The AirHogs jumped on St. Paul starter Ryan Zimmerman quickly to begin the game. Javion Randle walked and stole two bases. After a Lio Jinjun walk and an RBI Single by Han Xiao scored Randle, a double Yang Jin plated two more. Josh Prince would score in the 6th inning after doubling on an RBI sac fly by Jinjun.
Liu Guaquing would enter the game with two outs in the 8th inning. After a wild pitch allowed runners to reach second and third Guoquing got Josh Allen to fly out to Randle. After getting the first two batters of the inning out, he allowed a single to Dan Motl, he struck out Max Murphy to record his first save of the season.
The AirHogs are headed to the Cornhusker state to take on the Lincoln SaltDogs at 7:05 P.M. Gan Quan takes the mound for Texas.
