Milwaukee Milkmen Clinch Playoff Spot
The Milwaukee Milkmen clinch a playoff spot for the second time in the team’s a three-year history thanks to a 5-2 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. David Holmberg led the way, allowing one earned run in 6.1 innings pitched. Adam Brett Walker II is the 31st homerun of the season as part of a two-hit performance and Brett Vertigan also had two hits. The victory locks the defending American Association champions in a position to defend their title.
Three players had two hits in the game for Lincoln. Justin Byrd reached the base three times and had RBI.

Allison Tosses Gem in Cougars Victory
Ben Allison allowed one run in his first complete game of the season as the Kane County Cougars defeated the Gary SouthShore RailCats, 5-1. Allison allowed six hits and two walks while striking out seven to earn his fifth victory of the season. B,J. Lopez homered twice in the game and Tony Rosselli added a two-run shot.
The RailCats got two hits from both Billy Cooke and Daniel Lingua. Alec Olund reached base three times in the contest and scored the team’s only run.

Peterson Grand Slam Leads Railroaders
D.J Peterson hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning. To lead the Cleburne Railroaders to a 6-3 victory over the Houston Apollos. It was the sixth game in the last seven that Peterson has hit a homerun. Jesus Sanchez earned the victory, allowing two runs in seven innings. Alay Lago had two hits and Ramon Hernandez scored two runs and drove in a third.
Hudson Bilodeau had a big day for Houston, going 3-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Aaron Takacs had two hits and an RBI.

Martin Sets Mark in Goldeyes Victory
Kyle Martin hit his 30th homerun of the season and drove in five to lead the Winnipeg Goldeyes to a 13-11 victory over the Chicago Dogs. The 30 homeruns is a Goldeyes record, and Martin now has 103 RBI, setting the American Association record for RBI and a season. The score was tied in this contest at three until the Goldeyes scored six runs in the third and four more in the sixth. Chicago battled back with six in the seventh and two in the ninth, but could get no closer.
Martin finished 2-4 with two runs and five RBI. Max Murphy went 3-5 with three runs scored and Tyler Hill went 2-4 with two runs and three RBI. Hill also homered in the game
Chicago got three hits from K.C. Hobson, including his 22nd homerun of the season. He drove in for in the game. Danny Mars had four hits and Harrison Smith drove in three.

Winnipeg Goldeyes 1B Kyle Martin broke the American Association record for RBI when he drove in five on Thursday, giving him 103 for the season. That broke the mark set by Ray Sadler, who drove in 101 in 2011. Martin also broke the Goldeyes record for home runs in a season with his 30th homerun of the year. That broke the record of Sean Hearn and Juan Diaz… Adam Brett Walker II tied the American Association record for homers in a season with his 31st on Thursday. That tied Keon Barnum, who set the record in 2019…The Milwaukee Milkmen clinched a playoff spot for the second straight season. All three North Division playoff spots have been set now…The magic number for the Cleburne Railroaders to earn their first playoff spot in the franchise’s history is one. They need a victory or a Sioux City Explorers loss to clinch a spot.
