Milkmen RHP Kyle Mora Named Pitcher of the Week

On Monday, This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report named Milwaukee Milkmen right-hander Kyle Mora as the Pitcher of the Week for Week 11 of the 2023 American Association season. Mora dominated in his one start following the All-Star break, tossing a two hit, complete game shutout to lead the Milwaukee Milkmen to an 11-0 victory.

The right-hander was in complete control of this game from the start, retiring the first seven batters of the game. A one out double in the third broke the string. Mora then hit the leadoff batter in the fourth, erasing him with a double play. In the fifth, the Milwaukee starter gave up a leadoff walk, then eliminated him with a double play. That started a string of 11 straight batters retired. The streak came to an end with a leadoff single in the ninth, but he was erased on a double play grounder.

Mora allowed two hits and a walk while striking out four. He finished one over the minimum, as Winnipeg sent 28 batters to the plate. Of his 107 pages, 69 went for strikes, and he induced three double plays.

Kyle Mora signed with the Milwaukee Milkmen in 2021 after graduating from UCLA. He made 19 appearances for the team, posting a 1.21 ERA. He made two appearances for the Milwaukee Milkmen in 2022, posting a 1.50 ERA before his contract was purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks where he reached AA-Amarillo. Mora went a combined 2-2 with a 4.39 ERA through four levels. This season the right-hander returned to Milwaukee where he is now 6-1 with a 3.89 ERA in 12 starts. Mora has tossed 67 innings, allowing 71 hits and 21 walks while striking out 41.
