RailCats Stymy DockHounds Bats in Series Opening Loss

OCONOMOWOC, WI. – The Gary SouthShore RailCats took game one against the Lake Country 3-2 in Oconomowoc Monday evening.
The RailCats scored two of their three runs on the evening in the top of the first inning.
Zach Welz started it off with a base on balls, followed by a two-run home run by Michael Woodworth.
No scores would come across for the DockHounds until the fourth inning when Lamar Briggs grounded out, driving in Daikan Yoh from third base. The score would be 2-1 with Gary SouthShore leading.
Daniel Lingua drove in Welz with a sacrifice fly in the seventh to go up 3-1.
The bottom of the seventh consisted of Gio Brusa’s 10-pitch at bat that ended in a solo home run. That would be Gio’s third home run in the last 72 hours.
The DockHounds couldn’t rally back to tie or win the game. The final score was 3-2, RailCats.
Lake Country will continue their four-game series against the Gary SouthShore RailCats Tuesday, June 6th at 6:35 p.m.
