Clanin Triple Propels Railroaders
The Houston Apollos took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning on Monday, but Hunter Clanin gave his team the lead for good, delivering a bases clearing triple to lead the Cleburne Railroaders to an 8-2 victory. Cleburne added two in the fifth and sixth innings and one in the seventh to secure the victory. Clanin finished 2-4 with a run and three RBI. Ozzie Martinez and D.J. Peterson each homered for the Railroaders.
Taylor Zeutenhorst drove home both runs for Houston with a two-run double. Aaron Takacs went 2-4 with a run scored and William Salas reached base three times.

The Contest between the Kansas City Monarchs and the Sioux Falls Canaries was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a double-header on Tuesday.

Cleburne Railroaders 1B D.J. Peterson was named the PURE Performance Player of the Week. Peterson led the American Association in batting average (.650), homeruns (6), and RBI (13) during Week 15 of the season…Sioux City Explorers left-hander Patrick Ledet was named PURE Performance Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in two starts…Peterson has homered in four straight games after hitting his 10th homer of the year on Monday…The magic number for the Milwaukee Milkmen to clinch a playoff spot is down to one game. A win tonight or a Winnipeg Goldeyes loss and they will enter the postseason for the second straight season.
