Ramon Hernandez Given PURE Performance Player Honors

The Minor League Sports Report and This Week in the Association announced that Cleburne Railroaders infielder Ramon Hernandez has been named the PURE Performance Player of the Week for Week 11 of the 2021 American Association season. Hernandez led the league with a .526 batting average during the week and was tied for the league lead with three homeruns.

The Railroaders began the week with a series against the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Hernandez appeared in two of those contests, going a combined 3-7 with three runs scored, a homer, and three RBI. He opened the series with a 3-5 performance, scoring three runs and driving in two. The next night he was 0-2, but walked and drove in a run.

Cleburne then welcomed to the Houston Apollos, where Hernandez went 7-12 with four runs scored, two homers, and five RBI. The Cleburne infielder opened the series with a 3-4 performance, scoring two runs and driving in four. He doubled twice and homered in the contest, adding a walk for good measure. After going 1-4 on Saturday, Hernandez rebounded with a 3-4 performance, hitting his 18th homerun of the season. He scored two runs and drove in a run.

For the week, Ramon Hernandez was 10-19 with seven runs scored, two doubles, three homers, and eight runs driven in. He also walked twice and stole a base. His 1.105 slugging percentage and 1.670 OPS both led the American Association last week.

For earning PURE Performance Player of the Week, Ramon Hernandez will receive a check for $100 from PURE. Hernandez becomes the second Railroaders player to earn Player of the Week honors. Ozzie Martinez earned the PURE Performance Player of the Week honors last week.
