On September 3, the American Association named their 2018 Post-Season All-Star team as chosen by the league’s managers and media. On Tuesday, the Minor League Sports Report and This Week in the Association named the second team all-stars in the league as chosen by the publications.

Second Team American Association All-Stars Named
Catcher: Adrian Nieto (Kansas City T-Bones)
Nieto hit .313 in 81 games this season, ranking him in the top 20 in the league in batting. He scored 40 runs with 44 RBI. He added 15 doubles and six home runs. Nieto also threw out 23 of 95 would be based dealers, a 24.2 percent success rate.
First Baseman: Chris Jacobs (Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks)
Jacobs only appeared in 52 games, so he did not have enough at-bats to qualify in the batting race, but he finished with a .337 average, 12 home runs, and 42 RBI. The first baseman finished with a .983 OPS and a .398 OBP.
Second Baseman: Edwin Arroyo (Chicago Dogs)
Arroyo finished sixth in the league in batting at .325. In his first year in the league, the second baseman scored 54 runs, had 26 extra base hits and added 35 RBI. He also walked 39 times this season, giving him a .401 on-base percentage.
Third Baseman: Mason Davis (Kansas City T-Bones)
Davis was tied for ninth in the American Association in batting average at .319. In 63 games, he scored 46 runs and knocked in 31. Davis also stole 26 bases, the second most in the league this season. Davis had 14 doubles, nine homers, and 25 total extra-base hits.
Shortstop: Christian Ibarra (Lincoln Saltdogs)
Ibarra played in 89 games this season, posting a .299 average with 20 home runs. He led all shortstops in homers. Ibarra scored 76 runs, tied for third most in the league, and drove in 64. He also walked to 62 times giving him a .416 on-base percentage, fourth best in the league.
Outfielders: Randolph Oduber (Lincoln Saltdogs), Zach Nehrir (Wichita Wingnuts), Tim Colwell (Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks)
Oduber finished the season with a .324 batting average in 90 games, seventh best in the league. He scored 60 runs and drove in 57, including driving in 50 in 69 games with Lincoln. Oduber finished with a .382 on-base percentage.
Nehrir finished the season batting .312, and was arguably the best centerfielder defensively in the league this season. The outfielder played in 97 games, leading the league in stolen bases with 38, while scoring 65 runs and driving in 61 others. He added 31 extra-base hits.
Colwell led the RedHawks with a .320 average, seventh best in the American Association. He stole 24 bases, fifth best in the league, scored 47 runs, and drove in 41 others.
Starting Pitcher Tommy Collier (Kansas City T-Bones)
Tommy Collier, who was named the American Association Pitcher of the Year, tied for the league lead in wins with 12, and posted a 3.11 ERA, fourth best in the American Association. He won his last 11 decisions, was first in the league in strikeouts with 140, and second in total innings pitched with 137.2.
Reliever: Cody Winiarski (Kansas City T-Bones)
Despite missing the first couple of months of the season, Winiarski put together an impressive campaign, appearing in 31 games, saving 12 ballgames, while posting a 1.68 ERA. In 32 innings, Winiarski struck out 43. He posted a 3-1 record.
