Silviano Propels RedHawks, Ledet, Boscan Earn Weekly Honors

Silviano Homers Twice in RedHawks victory
John Silviano homered twice and drove in four runs as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks defeated the Lake Country DockHounds on Monday, 7-1. This was a scoreless tie to the first four innings, as both Davis Feldman and Francisco Jimenez were in command. However, that change in the top of the fifth when the RedHawks scored two runs to take the lead. Leobaldo Pina let off the frame with his sixth homerun of the season, and Silviano followed with a homer to make it 2-0.
Lake Country responded with a run in the bottom half of the frame when Zion Pettigrew doubled home Effrain Contreras, but it was all Fargo from there, as the team put up two runs in the sixth and seventh innings and added two more in the eighth. Silviano homered for the second time in the contest in the sixth, a two-run shot, and Peter Maris added a solo shot in the seventh.
Feldman earned his third victory of the season, allowing one run on five hits in seven innings. Silviano finished 3-4 with two runs and four RBI and Pina was 3-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Contreras went 2-3 with a run scored for the DockHounds.

Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks IF Manuel Boscan was named by This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report as the Player of the Week for Week 5 after hitting .400 with five homers… Sioux City Explorers left-hander Patrick Ledet was named by This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report as the Pitcher of the Week for Week 5 after tossing a gem against the Kansas City Monarchs in a 2-1 victory… Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks IF Drew Ward saw his consecutive on-base streak end at 33 games. That is the longest in the American Association this season.
