Vincent Declaws Cougars
Josh Vincent threw six shutout innings to lead the Gary SouthShore RailCats to a 4-1 victory over the Kane County Cougars. Vincent allowed four hits and four walks in his professional debut. Nick Garcia came on in the seventh and tossed three innings to earn his first save of the season. Ryan Cash had two hits and scored two runs for Gary.
Gavin LaValley had a big day for Kane County, hitting his eighth homerun of the season as part of a 2-4 performance. Josh Tols took the loss, three runs and 5.1 innings.

Berry Leads Apollos to Victory
Blake Berry hit his fifth homer of the season and drove in three runs to lead the Houston Apollos to a 4-3 victory over the Sioux City Explorers. The score was tied it to through four, but Houston took the lead for good when Berry drilled a 3-1 pitch for a two-run homer. Pierce Smith earned the victory with 1.2 innings of shutout relief and Ryan Richardson came on to close out the contest for his fourth save of the season.
The loss ruined a big night for both L.T. Tolbert and Chase Harris. Tolbert finished 4-5 with three runs scored. Harris had three hits. Nate Samson drove in a pair of runs for the Explorers.

Railroaders Bullpen Stymies Saltdogs
The Cleburne Railroaders bullpen tossed five shutout innings to lead the team to a 4-2 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. Taylor Wright threw two shutout innings to earn his first victory of the season and Kyle Chavez came on to close out the game for his fifth save of the year. Zach Nehrir went 3-4 with a run and an RBI and Noah Vaughan also had three hits, including his sixth homerun of the year.
Lincoln found themselves trailing 4-0 after three innings, but battled back with two runs in the top of the fourth. Josh Altmann drove in a run with one of his three hits on the day, and David Vidal drove home the other. However, the Saltdogs could get no closer.

Dahlberg Dazzles in Dogs Victory
Jake Dahlberg tossed a complete game shutout to lead the Chicago Dogs to a 5-0 victory over the Milwaukee Milkmen. Dahlberg allowed two hits and no walks while striking out 10 in earning his third victory of the season. The Dogs provided plenty enough offense for their starter, hitting three home runs. Michael Crouse hit a two-run blast and Brennan Metzger homered and scored two runs in the game. Ryan Lidge hit a homerun as part of a two hit performance.
The outing by Dahlberg spoiled a solid performance by Ryan Zimmerman. The right-hander went five innings, allowing three runs while striking out five.

Top of Order Leads Goldeyes
The top five hitters in the Winnipeg Goldeyes lineup had quite an evening, combining to go 12-22 with eight runs and nine RBI in a 9-5 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Max Murphy led the way, going 4-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Both Kyle Martin and Raul Navarro drove home three runs.
Winnipeg jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but Fargo battled back with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. However, the team could get no closer. Kevin Krause went 4-5 and Dylan Kelly and Alex Boxwell each had two hits, a run scored, and an RBI.

Canaries-Monarchs Rained Out
For the second straight night, the contest between the Sioux Falls Canaries and Kansas City Monarchs was washed out. These teams will play a double-header on Thursday with the other contest being made up at a later date.
