Goldeyes LHP Travis Seabrooke Named Pitcher of the Week

On Monday, This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report named Winnipeg Goldeyes left-hander Travis Seabrooke as the Pitcher of the Week for Week 8 of the 2023 American Association season. Seabrooke was outstanding during the week, going a combined 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA in two starts.

The left-hander made his first start of the week on June 26, tossing a complete game shutout against the Lincoln Saltdogs. It was the second complete game shutout in the American Association in 2023, and is one where Seabrooke dominated, allowing six hits and a walk while striking out nine. In just his seventh start since 2018, the left-hander needed only 107 pitches to earn the complete game, 75 of which were strikes.

In his second start of the week, on July 1, Seabrooke gave up single runs in the first and second innings to the Kansas City Monarchs, then shut down Kansas City over the next four frames, leading his team to an 8-3 victory. The left-hander allowed four hits and a walk while striking out six, moving to 4-1 on the season.

For the week, Seabrooke pitched 15.0 innings, allowing 10 hits and two walks while striking out 15. He posted a .189 opponent batting average and a 0.80 WHIP.

Travis Seabrooke was selected in the fifth round of the 2013 draft by the Baltimore Orioles. He spent six seasons with the Orioles organization, reaching High-A in both 2018 and 2019. In his six seasons in the minors, the left-hander was 11-26 with a 4.93 ERA. Seabrooke joined the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2021, going 6-0 with a 4.14 ERA in 44 appearances. Last season he appeared in 60 games, going 3-2 with a 4.75 ERA. This season he moved to the starting rotation and has been spectacular, going 4-1 with a 3.66 ERA.
