There were six games scheduled on Sunday, including the Chicago Dogs making a big comeback to down the Cleburne Railroaders and the Winnipeg Goldeyes won their seventh straight game.

Gonzalez Homer Completes Dogs Comeback
Rey Gonzalez hit a three run homer in the bottom of the seventh to help the Chicago Dogs battle from five runs down to defeat the Cleburne Railroaders, 7-6. Chicago fell behind 6-1 on a pair of three run innings for the Railroaders. However, the Dogs battled back with two in the fourth and one in the sixth to set the stage for Gonzalez’s game winning blast. Gonzalez finished a perfect 2-2 with two runs and three RBI after entering the game.
Mooney Sets Career High, RailCats Down Milkmen, 14-9
Marcus Mooney set a single game high, knocking in six as the Gary Southshore RailCats defeated the Milwaukee Milkmen, 14-9. Mooney was 4-5 with two runs scored. He drove home two in the first with a single, then added a grand slam in the fourth. Adam Walker had four hits for Milwaukee.
Goldeyes Bullpen Stellar, Down Redhawks, 3-1
It was a bullpen day in Winnipeg, as five pitchers combined on a four hitter to lead the Goldeyes to a 3-1 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Christian Torres earned the victory with three outstanding innings of relief and Victor Capellan came on for his 21st save of the season. The victory pulled Winnipeg within 2.5 games of first place Fargo.
Explorers Hang on for 11-7 Victory
The Sioux City Explorers jumped out to a 7-1 lead, then held off a feverish comeback by the Texas AirHogs to prevail, 11-7. Kyle Wren had three hits, scored three runs, and added two RBI for the Explorers. Jonathan Moroney had three hits and three runs for Texas. The win pulled the Explorers within 2.5 games of first place Cleburne.
T-Bones-Saints Suspended
The Kansas City T-Bones and St. Paul Saints had their contest suspended due to rain. The Saints were leading 2-0 in the second when the game was suspended. It will be continued before Monday’s regularly scheduled contest.
Saltdogs-Canaries Suspended
The contest between the Lincoln Saltdogs and the Sioux Falls Canaries was suspended with Lincoln leading 7-5. The game will be continued as part of Monday’s regularly scheduled contest.
American Association Notes
Dogs CF David Olmedo-Barrera saw his hitting streak end at 25 straight when he went 0-3…The Winnipeg Goldeyes have won seven straight games and are now just 2.5 games out of first place in the North…The Sioux City Explorers won their ninth straight game. They are one short of the league high winning streak set by the RedHawks (June 18-27).
