AirHogs Rally to Down Saints
The Texas AirHogs downed the St. Paul Saints on Tuesday night, scoring five in the ninth to win 6-3. After being held in check by Ryan Zimmerman for seven innings, Texas would rally against closer Todd Van Steensel. Josh Prince and Li Ning each drove in two runs in the frame. Ryan Smith earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief.
Milkmen Win First Game in Routine Field
Kurt Heyer allowed one earned run in a complete game victory that gave the Milwaukee Milkmen their first victory in their new ballpark, Routine Field. Garrett Copeland had two hits, including his second homer of the year. He scored two runs and drove in three. Heyer allowed six hits and a walk while striking out seven.
Tamburino Leads RedHawks to 5-3 Victory
Michael Tamburino allowed a run in seven innings to help the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks down the Sioux Falls Canaries, 5-3. Tamburino allowed five hits and two walks while striking out seven. Geoff Broussard came on for his 10th save. Chris Jacobs had two hits in his second game since coming off the DL.
Collier Returns to Stymy Dogs
Tommy Collier returned from the disabled list, tossing seven innings while allowing just one run as the Kansas City T-Bones defeated the Chicago Dogs, 9-1. Casey Gillaspie hit his fifth homerun of the year and drove in three to pace the Kansas City offense. The bottom of the order was 6-13 with three runs and three RBI.
Johnson Solid, Railroaders Win
Stephen Johnson made an impressive debut on Tuesday night, allowing two runs in five innings as the Cleburne Railroaders defeated the Lincoln Saltdogs, 7-4. The bottom of the Railroaders order had a big night as Hunter Clanin, Nick Rotola, and KC Huth were a combined 6-11 with five runs scored and three RBI. Christian Ibarra had two hits and scored three runs for Lincoln.
Samson Completes Comeback, Explorers Win 6-5
The Sioux City Explorers found themselves playing catchup all evening against the Winnipeg Goldeyes, rallying from 3-0 and 5-3 deficits to tie the score before Nate Samson won it with an RBI single in the eighth. Samson finished with three hits and two RBI. Tyler Hill had two hits, scored two runs and drove in two for Winnipeg.
American Association Notes
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks extended their winning streak to eight games on Tuesday, the longest in the American Association this season. The Texas AirHogs snapped their six game losing streak.
