Railroaders Roll to Double-Header Sweep
The Cleburne Railroaders swept their double-header with the Winnipeg Goldeyes on Sunday, thanks to some outstanding pitching and two homeruns from Jonathan Rodriguez. In Game 1, Jesus Sanchez dominated the Goldeyes, holding them to five hits in the complete game shutout. Hunter Clanin hit his third homerun of the season and drove in three runs. Clanin, John Nester, and Rodriguez each scored two runs. Rodriguez added his first homer of the year.
Game 2 looked like it was going to be much of the same thing as the Railroaders jumped out to a 3-0 lead through the first three innings, but Winnipeg would battle back with two runs in the fourth against Michael Gunn. However, they would get no closer as Cleburne prevailed, 5-2. Gunn allowed two runs in five innings, and Rodriguez homered for the second game in a row.
