Canaries Outlast Dogs in 12, 17-14
An eight-run second inning was not enough to keep this game from going to extra-innings, but Ryan Long did not let the big frame go to waste, hitting a three-run double in the 12th that gave the Sioux Falls Canaries a 17-14 victory. The Chicago Dogs found themselves playing catchup all night light, but five RBI from K.C. Hobson, including hitting his first homerun of the season helped the team to erase a seven-run and a four-run deficit.
Long delivered the big hit, a two-out double that cleared the bases. He finished with four RBI. Alay Lago and K.C. Huth each drove in three. Kurt Heyer earned the victory with three outstanding innings of relief.
