The Winnipeg Goldeyes are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of David Forney, the eldest child of Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney.

David recently finished his senior season as a member of the US Naval Academy football team, and was scheduled to graduate this May before serving his country.

David spent countless summer hours growing up at Shaw Park, and his loss affects everyone associated with the Goldeyes.

“I am truly heartbroken for the Forney family,” said Goldeyes’ general manager Andrew Collier. “My thoughts are with Rick, Erika, Chris, Rebekah, Erik, and extended family during this incredibly difficult time. David is, was, and always will be part of the Goldeyes family.”

The Goldeyes ask you to keep the Forneys in your prayers, and to please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
