Kevin Krause Given PURE Performance Player Honors

The Minor League Sports Report and This Week in the Association announced that Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks catcher Kevin Krause has been named the PURE Performance Player of the Week for Week 7 of the 2021 American Association season. Krause the lead the league during the week, hitting .560 in seven games with a league-leading 12 runs scored.

The RedHawks began the week with a four-game series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Krause opened the series with a 2-4 performance, scoring three runs and driving in three in a 12-9 victory on June 28. The catcher doubled and homered in the contest. The next night, Krause went 1-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. He then went 4-5with an RBI in the third game in a series, and concluded the set with a 1-3 performance, scoring a run and drawing a walk. In the four games against Winnipeg, Krause went 8-14 with six runs scored and five RBI.

Next, the team welcomed the Milwaukee Milkmen. Krause was spectacular in the series, finishing 6-11 was six runs scored and three runs driven in. On Friday, the Fargo catcher went 2-3 with three runs scored, adding a double and drawing a walk. He followed that up on Saturday with a 2-4 performance, scoring a run and hitting a triple. On Sunday, he helped the RedHawks complete the sweep with a 2-4 performance, scoring two runs and driving in three. He also added his second homerun of the week.

Kevin Krause had hits in all seven games during the week, going 14-25 with 12 runs scored, three doubles, a triple, two homers, and eight RBI. He also walked six times and struck out just once. Krause led the American Association in hitting during the week (.560) and in run scored (12). He also led in OPS (1.625) and in slugging (1.000) and on-base percentage (.625). Fargo-Moorhead went 6-1 during the week.

For earning PURE Performance Player of the Week, Kevin Krause will receive a check for $100 from PURE. Krause becomes the second RedHawks player to earn Player of the Week honors. Correlle Prime earned the honors in Week 2. Kevin McGovern earned PURE Performance Pitcher of the Week honors twice this season.
