Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks Week in Review, June 8-14, 2015
Week in Review
A 2-4 week has the team battling to stay out of last place, but with their quality pitching they are primed to turn things around. The RedHawks were in all but one of their games this week, and with a few more timely hits that record could have easily been reversed.
The Kansas City T-Bones took the first two games of their three game series with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to begin the week. Drew Muren’s first home run of the season was not enough to keep the RedHawks in the first game. In the second, F-M fell behind 9-1, but then put together a feverish rally, scoring four in the eighth to pull within four. Chad Mozingo had 3 hits and 3 RBI, but it was not enough to bring the club all the way back.
In the final game of the series, the RedHawks lineup pounded out 16-hits on their way to a 9-5 win. Joe Bonfe and Muren each had three hits and Stefan Gartrell added his first home run of the season. Six Fargo-Moorhead players had at least two hits, as the club rallied from one down entering the eighth inning, before scoring five in the final two frames to win.
Onto Indiana Fargo-Moorhead went to face the Gary Southshore RailCats for three games. Game one was a close one all the way through with the RailCats scoring two in eighth to claim the 4-3 win. Mozingo added two runs and looked like he was solidifying his place at the top of the RedHawks batting order.
In the second game, Fargo got seven outstanding innings from Tyler Herron, who won his first game of the season. Michael Noteware earned his first save with two innings of scoreless relief. Mozingo added three hits in four trips to the plate, and Joe Dunigan drove home two in the 6-3 victory.
In the rubber match of the series, the score was tied entering the bottom of the sixth, but Gary got two runs in the sixth and two in the eighth to claim the 7-3 win. Joe Staley had three hits for F-M, and Zach Penprase and Mozingo chipped in two apiece.

Who’s Hot
His name has been mentioned a lot in this article and for good reason. Chad Mozingo entered the week hitting .282 and left it with a battering average of .330. That says a lot about the kind of week he was having. The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks center fielder went 0-2 on Monday, then had at least two hits in the final five games of the week, going 12-24 with 4 runs and 5 RBI. He also stole three bases.
