Five Home Runs Give Winnipeg Sweep of Saints, 11-5
Robert Coe was making his second start since coming off the disabled list, and it proved to be the most forgettable in his career. Coe allowed five-runs off of four-home runs in just 0.1-innings as the Winnipeg Goldeyes rolled to an 11-5 victory over the St. Paul Saints, sweeping the three-game series. Shortstop Andrew Sohn homered twice in the game and the Goldeyes would hit five-homers in all. Zach Dodson won his fifth game and David Bergin drove in three for the Goldeyes.
After Dodson kept he Saints off the scoreboard in the top of the first, the Goldeyes scored five times in the bottom half of the inning. Andrew Sohn led off the inning by clubbing a 2-2 pitch for his eighth homer of the year. David Rohm followed by hitting his second home run of the season and just seven pitches into the game Winnipeg led 2-0. Coe retired Josh Romanski, but Reggie Abercrombie fell behind 0-2 before hitting his ninth homer of the season. Shawn Pleffner followed with a base hit into right field and David Bergin followed with his 15th home run of the season to make it 5-0.

Jeff Malm relieved and finally closed out the inning, but in the third, the Goldeyes extended their led to 10. Abercrombie started the inning with a base hit, then stole second before a ground out moved him to third. Bergin singled to left to drive Abercrombie home and Wes Darvill followed with his second walk of the game to put two on with one down. A base hit by Mason Katz brought home Bergin and Sohn plated Darvill with a base hit to center. With two down, Rohm doubled to right field. Katz scored easily. The ball was misplayed by the Saints right fielder allowing Sohn to score to make it 10-0.
In the fourth, St. Paul got two of those runs back. Brady Shoemaker walked with one down. Two batters later Nate Hanson singled into left field to move Shoemaker to second. A passed ball moved both runners into scoring position, and Tony Thomas plated both runners with a base hit up the middle.
In the fifth, Winnipeg extended their lead back to nine. Jason Hoppe retired the first two batters of the inning on strikeouts, but he could not get Sohn. On the first pitch he threw to the Goldeyes shortstop, he ripped a shot over the left field wall for his ninth homer of the year.

St. Paul responded with two runs in the top of the sixth. Breland Almadova, who returned from the DL earlier, singled to start the inning and Shoemaker followed with a walk. Two batters later Hanson lined a single into right that scored Almadova. A sacrifice fly by Thomas brought home Shoemaker to make it 11-4.
In the ninth, the Saints added one more run. Kes Carter doubled to start the inning. He stole third and scored on a wild pitch to make it 11-5. That would be the final score.
Zac Dodson (5-3) went 7-innings, allowing 6-hits and 3-earned runs. He walked 3 and struck out 8. Andrew Sohn was 3-5 with 3-runs and 3-RBI. David Bergin was 3-4 with 3-runs and 3-RBI. Tony Thomas had 3-RBI for the Saints.
