Big Fourth Inning Propels Dogs over Cougars
The Chicago Dogs scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning to break open their contest with the Kane County Cougars on their way to a 9-2 victory. Chicago led 3-1 entering the fourth, but a two-run single by Joey Terdoslavich and a two run double off the bat of Johnny Adams blew the game open. Adams finished with three RBI and Terdoslavich was 2-5 with two runs and two RBI. T.J. Bennett scored three runs and reached base four times for Chicago.
Kane County was led by Tony Rosselli who homered for the second straight game. He was one of three Cougars with two hits in the contest.

Perez, Saltdogs Crush Apollos
Yanio Perez homered and drove in five runs as the Lincoln Saltdogs crushed the Houston Apollos, 18-7. Lincoln scored seven runs in the first and six in the second to take a commanding lead in this contest. Perez led the way, recording three hits and scoring three runs. Five Saltdogs players went deep in this contest, including both David Vidal and Edgar Corcino, who each drove in three in the contest.
Houston got another big evening out of Aaron Takacs, who went 2-4 with three runs driven in. He hit his ninth home run of the season. Blake Berry went 3-5 with two runs scored.

Monarchs Roll Past Railroaders
The Kansas City Monarchs scored five unanswered runs through the first two innings on their way to an 8-1 victory over the Cleburne Railroaders. Morgan McCullough led the way for Kansas City, recording two hits and driving in three. Kevin Santa and Charcer Burks each scored two runs.
D.J. Peterson went deep for Cleburne, hitting his seventh homerun in his last eight games. The loss keeps the Railroaders’ magic number at one to clinch a playoff spot.

Martin Continues Historic Season in Goldeyes Loss
Kyle Martin hit his 31st home run of the season, tying the American Association record for homeruns in a season, but it was not enough as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 10-4. Martin also drove in two in the contest, extending his single-season record for RBI in a year to 105.
Fargo broke open a two-run lead with three runs in the fourth and three in the fifth. Cody Lovejoy hit a three-run homer for the RedHawks, his first of the season. Jon Ludwig earned the victory, allowing one run in five innings.

RailCats Win Wild Affair Over Milwaukee
The Gary SouthShore RailCats and Milwaukee Milkmen were tied at two through five innings, but both teams erupted in the final four frames as the RailCats earned a 10-6 victory. Gary scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh to take a 6-3 lead. Milwaukee battled back with two with the top of the eighth, but the RailCats sealed the victory with four in the bottom of the eighth. MJ Rookard led the way for Gary, going 2-3 with four runs scored and two RBI. The bottom four hitters in the RailCats lineup drove in nine in the contest. That helped to make a winner of Jack Alkire, who allowed three runs in 6.2 innings.
Trey Martin went 2-3 for Milwaukee, including hitting his third home run of the season. Christ Conley was a perfect 3-3 with a walk.

Explorers Rally Late to Keep Playoff Hopes Alive
The Sioux City Explorers scored two runs in the seventh and two runs in the eighth to secure an 8-4 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries. Mitch Ghelfi reached on an error in the seventh that allowed two runners to score and José Sermo added a two run homer in the eighth to secure the victory. Zach Hedges earned the victory, striking out 10 in seven innings. Sermo finished 3-4 with four runs scored and three RBI.
The loss ruined a big evening for Jabari Henry, who drove in two runs in the contest. That now makes him the all-time leader in RBI for Sioux Falls with 232.
