Justin Goossen-Brown Returns to Dogs
ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Chicago Dogs have re-signed right-handed pitcher Justin Goossen-Brown, the team announced Tuesday.
Goossen-Brown first joined the Dogs midway through the 2019 season, during which he appeared in 14 games. The California native amassed a 2.72 earned-run average in his first professional season, racking up eight scoreless appearances. In his landmark performance of the year, Goossen-Brown pitched throughout extra innings during a 15-inning marathon against St. Paul on August 24. He allowed just a single run.
Goossen-Brown is the younger brother of Josh Goossen-Brown, who pitched for the Dogs in 2018 and 2019 and was the first signee in franchise history.
After starting his college career with a palmy tenure at Los Angeles Valley College, Goossen-Brown starred for San Diego State. In his first start as a junior, he became the first pitcher in program history to strike out ten batters without surrendering a single walk.
