Dogs Open Series with Victory over RailCats
Jordan Kipper allowed one run in six innings to lead the Chicago Dogs to an 8-3 victory over the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Kipper allowed six hits while striking out six to earn his fifth win of the season. Anfernee Grier and Ryan Lidge each homered in the game. Danny Mars went 3-5 with two runs scored and Lidge was a perfect 3-3 with two runs scored as well. Mars drove in two while Lidge plated three.
The RailCats got two RBI from Daniel Lingua and Zach Welz drove in the other run. Welz had two hits.
Nissen Shuts Down Goldeyes
Logan Nissen tossed six shutout innings to lead the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to an 8-0 victory over the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Nissen allowed four hits and three walks while striking out four to even his record at 4-4. Correlle Prime hit his 12th homer of the year and drove in three and Leobaldo Pina and Jordan George each went 2-3. Pina hit his 11th homer of the year.
Raul Navarro had two hits for Winnipeg.
