Railroaders Down Milkmen in 11
Nick Shumpert singled home Matt Morgan with two down in the 11th inning to give the Cleburne Railroaders the lead, and Zach Nehrir drove home Hunter Wolfe as the insurance run as Cleburne defeated the Milwaukee Milkmen on Monday, 5-3. Milwaukee had taken a 2-0 lead, scoring single runs in the first in the third. However, the Railroaders battled back with solo runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the score. Each team brought home a run in the 10th. That set up the dramatic 11th inning.
Ryan Moseley (1-0) earned the victory, allowing one unearned run in 2.0 innings pitched. He struck out five. Trevor Simms pitched well in his debut for the Railroaders, allowing two runs on four hits in 5.0 innings. Nick Shumpert had two hits for Cleburne.
Logan Trowbridge led the Milwaukee offense, going 1-4 with two runs scored. Correlle Prime also had two hits and added an RBI. Jake Matthys (0-1) took the loss, allowing one earned run in 2.0 innings pitched.
