Saltdogs Bats Soured by Milkmen

LINCOLN, Nebraska – Kyle Kinman allowed four runs in six-plus innings, and the Lincoln Saltdogs fell 4-1 against the Milwaukee Milkmen at Haymarket Park on Wednesday night.
Milwaukee (33-31) took the lead with two runs in the 3rd. Logan Trowbridge led off the inning with his fourth homer of the year, and later Will Kengor drove in Jeremiah Burks with a two-out RBI single.
The Milkmen extended the lead in the 6th when Aaron Hill made it 3-0 with another two-out RBI single.
Lincoln (31-34) got on the board in the bottom of the 6th. Jason Rogers drove in his second RBI in as many games with a sacrifice fly that scored Drew Devine after a leadoff walk earlier in the inning.
Milwaukee restored the lead on Bryan Torres’s RBI triple in the 7th.
Milwaukee’s Ben Holmes tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits with no walks and no strikeouts.
Kinman gave up seven hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Jonathan Cheshire pitched two scoreless innings, while Elijah Johnson went 1-2-3 in the 9th inning.
The series concludes on Thursday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., and pregame coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
