Seabrooke Blanks Saltdogs, Alexander, Bates Earn Weekly Honors

Seabrooke Blanks Saltdogs
Travis Seabrooke became the second American Association pitcher to toss a complete game shutout this season, allowing just six hits in a 7-0 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. In just his sixth start, the left-hander walked one and struck out nine. Seabrooke is now 3-1.
Max Murphy provided all the offense the Winnipeg starter needed, blasting a two-run homer in the top of the first, the first of two homers hit by Murphy on the evening. In the fourth, Brynn Martinez and Tra Holmes extended the lead to four, and Murphy closed out the scoring with a three-run homer in the seventh.
Murphy finished 2-4 with two runs scored and five RBI. Tommy McCarthy, Dayson Croes, and Najee Gaskins each had two hits for the Goldeyes, No player for Lincoln had more than one hit.

This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report named their Player and Pitcher of the Week in the American Association. Cleburne Railroaders outfielder Hill Alexander was selected as the Player of the Week while Sioux City Explorers right-hander Solomon Bates was named the Pitcher of the Week. The American Association also selected Bats as their top pitcher, but the league chose Chicago Dogs infielder Matt Bottcher as the top player… Winnipeg Goldeyes LHP Travis Seabrooke tossed the first complete game shutout since Mitchell Lambson did it for the team in August 2019.
