Terdoslavich Homers Twice, Canaries Win Late – American Association Daily
American Association Daily provides insights, features, and recaps of the action from around the American Association of Professional Baseball League, as well as player and coaching profiles and transactions. In today’s edition of American Association Daily Recap, Robert Pannier recaps Tuesday’s great day in the American Association, including the Sioux Falls Canaries scoring two in the ninth to defeat the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and Joey Terdoslavich homering twice to power the Chicago Dogs to victory.
Terdoslavich Homers Twice in Dogs Domination, 10-3
Joey Terdoslavich homered twice as the Chicago Dogs dominated the St. Paul Saints, 10-3. Terdoslavich hit a solo shot in the first and a three-run blast in the third to help stake his team to a 6-0 lead. Victor Roache hit his league leading 15th homer of the year. That was plenty enough support for left-hander Thomas Dorminy, who won his sixth straight game.
Coulter Homer Helps Canaries Clip RedHawks
Clint Coulter ruined an absolute gem by Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks’ starter Tyler Pike, blasting a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning to send the Sioux Falls Canaries to a 3-2 victory. Pike and Tyler Herron had squared off in a great pitchers’ duel. Herron allowed two runs in eight innings, while Pike allowed just the one. However, he came out in the ninth and Coulter blasted his eighth homer of the season with two outs off closer Mitchell Osnowitz to give the Canaries the lead. Keaton Steele came on to close out the game for his 11th save of the season.
Kussmaul Sharp in Milkmen Victory, 6-2
Ryan Kussmaul allowed one run in five innings for his fourth straight win as the Milwaukee Milkmen defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 6-2. Adam Walker drove in two and Christian Correa hit his fourth homer of the season to lead the Milkmen offense. Jonathan Moroney hit his second homer of the season for Winnipeg.
RedHawks OF Drew Ward kept his hitting streak alive with two hits, giving him hits in 19 straight games. That is an American Association high this season…Two teams re-signed starters from last season as the Sioux Falls Canaries re-signed RHP Alex Boshers and the St. Paul Saints added LHP Chris Nunn…Dogs starter Thoms Dorminy extended his personal winning streak to six games…Dogs OF Victor Roache has 15 homers in 39 games. He hit 24 homers in 97 games for Chicago last season.
