Ventura Dominates for Canaries
Angel Ventura tossed six shutout innings as the Sioux Falls Canaries defeated the Houston Apollos, 6-3. Ventura allowed three hits and struck out five in earning his seventh win of the season.
The Canaries scored three runs in the second and three in the eighth and looked like they would run away with this contest, but the Apollos rallied for three in the ninth before Sioux Falls was able to close out the victory. Mitch Glasser homered and drove in two for the Canaries. Shamoy Christopher went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI. Cade Gotta was 2-4 with an RBI and brother Nick Gotta went 3-4.
Hudson Bilodeau led the Apollos, going 2-5 with an RBI. Jared Fry was 2-3 with a run and Blake Berry was 1-5 with two runs drive in.
