RedHawks RHP Davis Feldman Named Pitcher of the Week

On Monday, This Week in the Association and the Minor League Sports Report named Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks right-hander Davis Feldman as the Pitcher of the Week for Week 3 of the 2024 season. Feldman won both his starts during the week, posting a 1.93 ERA.

The right-hander got off to a fast start, allowing one run in six innings in a 9-2 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs last Tuesday. Feldman gave up a hit in the first, then gave up a walk and a double to start the second. Back-to-back groundouts led to a run putting his team behind 1-0. However, the right-hander rebounded to dominate from there, allowing a walk in the third before retiring the next nine batters. The run came to an end with one out single in the sixth, but Feldman retired the final two batters two end the frame. The RedHawks right-hander allowed one run on three hits and two walks, striking out three.

His next start came on Sunday, a dominating performance in Cleburne that saw Feldman blank the Railroaders through the first seven innings. He retired the first 14 batters of the game, seeing the streak come to an end when Bret Boswell singled with two outs in the fifth. The righty allowed a walk in the sixth, giving up a single walk and a hit through the first seven innings. Cleburne finally rallied in the eighth, with a single and a hit by pitch putting two on with two down. The right-hander then threw a wild pitch before giving up a two-run single. Feldman left after eight innings, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight.

For the week, Davis Feldman went 14.0 innings, allowing six hits and three walks while striking out 11. He posted an impressive 0.64 WHIP and opponents hit .122 against him.

After graduating from college, where he starred at Eastern Michigan, Feldman signed with Lexington (Atlantic League), where he went 0-3 in six starts. He also pitched out of the bullpen for the RedHawks that season, going 3-0 with a 7.07 ERA in nine appearances. The following year, the right-hander remained in Fargo-Moorhead, where he went 6-6 with a 5.03 ERA in 16 starts and 12 relief appearances. Feldman got off to a fast start in 2023, going 3-1 with a 2.42 ERA in his first four starts. That brought the Toronto Blue Jays calling, who signed the righty, sending him to Dunedin (Low-A) where he went 2-6 with a 4.47 ERA. He moved up to AA-New Hampshire where Feldman was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 6.1 innings pitched.

He returned to the RedHawks this season where Feldman is 2-0 with a 2.75 ERA through his first three starts. He has allowed 13 hits and six walks while striking out 14 in 19.2 innings.
