RedHawks Even Series Behind Feldman
Davis Feldman made the most of his first start in nearly 3 weeks, allowing two runs in five innings to lead the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to a 7-3 victory over the Milwaukee Milkmen. The victory evened the American Association Championship series at one.
This was a scoreless tie through the first two innings, but the RedHawks took the lead in the top of the third. A walk to Christian Correa and a double down the line by Drew Ward put two runners in scoring position with one down. That brought Leobaldo Pina to the plate, who drilled a ball to the gap in right-center, scoring two. Piña raced for third with a triple and scored on a John Silviano single to make it 3-0 Fargo-Moorhead.
The Milkmen responded right away in the bottom of the third. Jeremiah Burks singled to lead off the inning and scored when Bryan Torres hit a ball that landed just fair down the right field line. Torres reached third on a triple while Burks scored. Torres then came home on a base hit by Logan Trowbridge and the Milkmen were down by a single run.
In the sixth, Fargo-Moorhead extended their lead to two. With Jack Mahoney on for Ben Holmes, Silviano led off with a double and scored when Alec Olund delivered an RBI single to center. An inning later, some very close pitches went against Milwaukee, as the RedHawks loaded the bases with three walks, all with two down. Manuel Boscan then delivered a double to left, driving home Ward and Pina to make it 6-2.
The RedHawks added one more run in the eighth on an RBI single by Correa. In the bottom half of the inning, Keon Barnum hit his second homerun of the postseason to make it 7-3. That would be the final.
Feldman allowed two runs on six hits in 5.0 innings to earn his first victory of the postseason. Boscan was 2-5 with two runs scored and Pina scored two runs and drove in two. Silviano had two hits. Torres led Milwaukee with three hits, scored a run and had an RBI. Aaron Hill had two hits for the Milkmen.
